Comments
We do not accept comments or user accounts, no information is generated or stored regarding comments or user accounts.
Media
We do not accept any user media uploads.
Cookies
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Analytics
We do not collect any analytics via WordPress itself. The webserver temporaily logs your IP address and browser’s user agent string. We use two analytics packages, Limit Login Attempts Reloaded and a locally hosted Plausible instance.
Limit Login Attempts Reloaded logs the following upon a client attempting to log into the site:
- IP Address
- Username used
Plausible’s Data Policy page lists information that we collect through it. This information is largely collected out of curiosity to see who in the world is even interested in this personal blog, however I may publicly share some of these metrics aggregated in the future.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
In saying this, we generally will not embed content from other websites, especially if they are not privacy-respecting.
Who we share your data with
Information is not shared with any third parties. Some non-identifying aggregated information may be shared publicly in the future.
How long we retain your data
Suggested text: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If we store any personal information about you, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Please keep in mind that this is a personal website, any data request may have significant delays.
Where we send your data
Information is not sent to other parties or systems unless for server migration purposes.
